Dive Brief:
- Tapestry on Thursday announced the retirement of Chief Operations Officer Tom Glaser, according to a company press release. He will remain with the company until Oct. 1. Glaser has been with Tapestry for three years.
- In a newly created dual role, Scott Roe will continue on as the company’s CFO, but will take on the additional position of chief operating officer, effective immediately.
- As part of the changes, CEO Joanne Crevoiserat will oversee the company’s Strategy and Consumer Insights team, which formerly reported to Roe.
Dive Insight:
Roe has been with Tapestry for a little over a year, but is adding another C-suite position to his responsibilities.
Roe will continue to lead the finance organization and will also begin to oversee operations across Tapesty’s brands, which include Coach, Kate Spade and Stuart Weitzman. He will also lead the company’s supply chain and IT operations.
“Since Scott joined Tapestry in June 2021, he has been a great partner to me and has a unique and unparalleled understanding of multi-brand companies,” Crevoiserat said in a statement. “I am very confident that Scott, together with our talented teams, will continue to optimize our robust operating platform as we move forward.”
Roe came to Tapestry in the summer of 2021 from VF Corporation, where he worked for 25 years in various leadership positions, and as CFO from 2015 until his exit.
A number of retailers have recently collapsed their COO and CFO roles into a dual position. DTC apparel company Torrid on Wednesday appointed Guitar Center vet Tim Martin to be its COO and CFO. Jeans company True Religion did the same thing in July with the hiring of Sandip Grewal.
