Dive Insight:
The YouCam for Web platform could even the playing field between major cosmetics companies and up-and-comers.
It is the latest Perfect Corp. tool attempt to lure more beauty brands into artificial intelligence and augmented reality. The brand already boasts major players such as Estee Lauder, MAC and YSL on its YouCamp platform. Aside from the high-end beauty brands, Perfect Corp. has also partnered with more accessible retailers and brands, including Target and QVC, and introduced features like live streaming.
The potential benefit from a tool like this is allowing consumers to evaluate products before purchasing. Additionally, it may slow down the cycle of buying, testing and returning products, which can weigh on beauty retailers' supply chains.
"SaaS is the way of the future and YouCam for Web helps to cater to the growing needs of beauty tech solutions across all budgets," Perfect Corp. CEO and Founder Alice Chang said in a statement.
Perfect Corp will demonstrate the YouCam for Web platform at Cosmoprof North America in Las Vegas, Nevada, from July 28-30.
