- Kim Kardashian West's shapewear company, Skims, will launch in select Nordstrom stores on Feb. 5, according to a social media post by the department store.
- Skims will be available at 25 Nordstrom locations and on nordstrom.com, per the company's website. Nordstrom did not immediately respond to Retail Dive's request for comment on the line.
- In response to a question on Twitter, Nordstrom stated that the collection includes women's shapewear, panties, bralettes and accessories, including body tape and pasties.
Nordstrom is delving further into a direct-to-consumer strategy by partnering with Kardashian West's shapewear line.
The retailer has worked with other trendy players in the DTC space, including Glossier when the two launched "shopping experiences" at Nordstrom locations in December, which are scheduled to close Feb. 16. The department store has also collaborated with luggage brand Away, denim brand Revtown and sustainable fashion company Everlane.
By partnering with Nordstrom, Kardashian West will be able to introduce her shapewear brand to a new, larger consumer base. "It is such a natural choice for me to want to choose Nordstrom as my first retail partner for Skims," Kardashian West said in a video addressing the announcement.

She went on to explain that one of the reasons for the partnership was due to product sizing. "They really have an inclusive size offering. And I know that that is an important shared value that Skims has and I really wanted to launch with the full range of sizes and colors," Kardashian West said.
When the undergarment collection was first announced, Skims stated that products would come in sizes XXS to 4XL in nine different shade variations. The size and range of colors has been a differentiator, as the lingerie segment has been in the midst of a shakeup.
Skims was first announced in the summer of 2019 under the name Kimono Solutionwear. After receiving backlash on social media due to accusations of cultural appropriation, the company changed its name.
