Dive Insight:
Canada Goose has shuffled its management team in pursuit of growth across key markets.
“We are deeply grateful to Jonathan and Ana and thank them for their longstanding service and contributions, which have helped build the foundation for our next chapter,” Dani Reiss, CEO of Canada Goose, said in a statement. “We also welcome Dan and Niclas into their new roles. Dan’s proven ability to drive transformation and Niclas’s deep expertise in luxury retail will be critical as we scale our business in Asia Pacific and elevate our retail experience worldwide.”
Ekerot has more than 25 years experience in luxury retail operations, having served in senior leadership roles at Bottega Veneta, Michael Kors and Gucci. He was most recently the global vice president of retail at Burberry for over seven years, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Canada Goose has been remaking the company’s leadership after cutting its corporate workforce by 17% about a year ago. The brand is making changes at the top as it looks to expand its Asia Pacific business. Asia Pacific sales, which include Mainland China, were up 20% during the brand's Q2.
The company’s North America business was down 7.4% in Q2. DTC revenue increased nearly 22%, with comparable sales up 10.2%. Gross profit was up by 3.7% for the quarter.
With a renewed emphasis on expanding product categories through its DTC business, Canada Goose last year named former Stella McCartney chief merchant Judit Bankus to the position of senior vice president of merchandising.
Additionally, in seeking to be a more year-round apparel company, Canada Goose expanded its warm-weather options through its Snow Goose seasonal capsule collection last summer. It was done under the direction of Paris-based creative director Haider Ackermann, who joined the company in 2024.
