Longtime Neiman Marcus merchant Russ Patrick is returning to department store merchandising, this time as Bloomingdale’s general merchandising manager of home.
Patrick spent three decades at the Dallas-based luxury retailer and left a couple of years ago, according to his LinkedIn page. Most recently, he served as head merchant of men's, gifts and home, and children's for Neiman Marcus and Horchow.
Bloomingdale’s, part of Macy’s Inc., was enticing because it has opened “a pivotal chapter of growth and momentum,” Patrick said in an emailed statement.

“After three decades in the industry and a deliberate break, it was clear that Bloomingdale’s was the right place to return, a sentiment echoed across the market,” he said. “The strength of the team, the clarity of the vision, and the opportunity ahead make Bloomingdale’s the destination. I’m energized to take on this next chapter as GMM of home, contributing to the continued evolution of such an iconic company, and to do so in New York — the center of retail energy.”
Neiman Marcus Group, which also includes Bergdorf Goodman and luxury home goods retailer Horchow, took a spin through bankruptcy in 2020 and went through a couple of rounds of layoffs three years later. As of about a year ago NMG’s retailers are part of Saks Global, which filed for bankruptcy last week.
As Saks Global struggled in the first year of its merger, which closed at the end of 2024, several executives left Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman for Bloomingdale’s and Nordstrom. Those two department stores have also picked up market share from Saks Global in the past several months.
