The nation’s top mobile retailer, Amazon Inc., has added Apple Watch functions such as voice-activated search and a one-click purchase option to its mobile app. The companion app, which will download automatically when users update the Amazon app on their phones, will also offer product information, images, prices, ratings, and shipping information.
The company joins Target and QVC in adding Apple Watch functionalities to its apps. Tracking usage, QVC reports that iPhones are generally used to order or a fast check of inventory, while iPads are more of a discovery platform. The company plans to find out where the Apple Watch fits in and adjust its app to the sales funnel accordingly.
