The company is running mobile ads within Pandora’s iPhone application. Consumers are encourage to tap on the ad to buy tickets.

Sony is running full page mobile ads within Pandora which read “From the international best-selling trilogy. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Now Playing.”

Consumers can tap on the mobile ad to purchase tickets and view showtimes.

When users tap on the ad they are redirected to a Fandango page, which is mobile-optimized.

Users can buy tickets to the film

There, consumers can view the trailer for the film, see what others have to say about it and browse showtimes.

Running a mobile ad such as this is an effective way to drive mobile movie ticket sales.

Mobile fanatic
This is not the first time Sony has advertised within Pandora.

In August, Sony let consumers buy tickets and view showtimes for its “30 Minutes or Less” film via a mobile ad.

The company is ran the expandable mobile ad within Pandora’s iPhone application. In addition to buying tickets, consumers were able to watch the trailer for the film (see story).

Additionally, the company drive sales for its “Bad Teacher” film via mobile ads.
