Dive Insight:
Vuori’s latest release marks a collaboration between two Southern California-based brands.
From Los Angeles, Clae has developed footwear centered on minimalist products with a focus on minimizing its environmental footprint since 2001. The shoe collaboration with Vuori is made of “mostly recycled materials,” including a recycled mesh and liner.
Vuori’s product’s description page says it is a gender-neutral shoe meant for movement, with the ability to cross over from the gym into everyday attire.
Vuori’s new product launch comes two months after it named four new C-suite executives. In April the direct-to-consumer brand hired former Yeti executive Hugh Garrity as its new chief operating officer, Libby Stockstill as its first general counsel, Jen Frisch as its chief people officer and Bryan Muehlberger as its chief information officer.
Since raising $400 million from SoftBank in 2021, Vuori has been expanding steadily. The brand in October opened its first flagship store in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood. The 5,000-square-foot space is its first location on the East Coast and opened a month after Vuori debuted its first international store in London. At the time, the company said it plans to open more than 100 stores over the next five years.
