Roe was at VF Corp. for 25 years, serving as CFO since 2015, after holding a series of leadership positions in finance, accounting, investor relations and other areas.
Andrea Shaw Resnick, who has been interim CFO since last July, will take the newly created role of chief communications officer, according to a company press release. Vice President of Investor Relations Christina Colone will be promoted to oversee investor relations.
Tapestry has been in need of a CFO since Joanne Crevoiserat, who had the post since 2019, scrambled to take over as chief executive upon the sudden departure of Jide Zeitlin last July. The company made that permanent in October.
In a statement, she said that Roe was chosen in part for his experience at a conglomerate, noting his "deep expertise successfully developing global multi-brand platforms."
The company has been dealing with the fallout from Zeitlin's departure for nearly a year. Earlier this month, its Coach brand said that Todd Kahn, who had been serving as interim CEO of the label since July, will keep the job permanently.
Even before Zeitlin's exit, Tapestry was shaking up its C-suite amid the challenges presented by the pandemic, with Coach chief Joshua Schulman leaving and new leadership at the Kate Spade and Stuart Weitzman labels early last year.
