EBay on Monday scrambled to address technical difficulties that had stretched into a second day, including the entire marketplace site going down.
The e-commerce giant didn’t address questions about what aspects of business on the site were having problems or whether they were due to a cyberattack.
“We’re aware that some customers have been experiencing intermittent technical issues since Sunday afternoon on parts of the eBay platform,” a spokesperson said by email. “Our teams are actively working to restore full functionality as quickly as possible. We appreciate our customers’ patience as we work to resolve this.”
In its most recent quarter, eBay averaged more than $32 million in revenue and $230 million in gross merchandise volume per day.
