Build-A-Bear appointed Carmen Flores as senior vice president of e-commerce and digital experiences last week, as the company expands its digital strategy.
Flores will lead the expansion of Build-A-Bear’s e-commerce business and develop its global digital experience strategy, according to a company press release. She reports to Chief Revenue Officer David Henderson.
Flores joins the toy company from The Lego Group, where she held senior roles, including leading digital growth. She also worked with Richemont, where she relaunched Montblanc’s digital business, and with L’Oreal USA, where she drove growth for beauty brands on Amazon.
Flores’ “extensive experience and forward-thinking approach to digital transformation are exactly what we need as we continue to scale our reach and elevate the guest journey across all channels,” Henderson said in a statement. “We look forward to her leadership in advancing our e-commerce platform and enhancing our digital experiences.”
The toy company has appointed a number of other executives in the past year, including a new chief brand officer and a chief legal officer and secretary. CRO Henderson came to the company last fall from Melissa & Doug, where he was chief commercial officer. He also spent nearly 20 years at Hasbro.
In Build-A-Bear’s latest quarter, total revenues were up over 11% year over year to $124.2 million, while net income increased nearly 41% to $12.4 million.
