AisleBuyer taps iPad app as payment option for retailers

The mClerk app features a mobile commerce platform that includes customer analytics, a customizable tablet user interface and checkout capabilities. The company rolled out the app to maximize sales and improve the shopping experience.

“AisleBuyer mClerk is the latest application on our mobile commerce platform, which takes advantage of mobile technology – both tablets and smartphones – to improve the in-store experience for customers, while giving retailers new opportunities to better serve their customers,” said Andrew Paradise, CEO of AisleBuyer, Boston.

“MClerk is the first mobile-assisted shopping app with checkout capabilities, which allows retail associates to interact with customers from anywhere in a store with full product catalog information, personalized coupons and promotions, ratings and reviews – while also enabling the checkout process to occur from any aisle with a clerk’s assistance,” he said.

AisleBuyer offers a revolutionary mobile commerce platform for retailers, brands and restaurants.

Store assistance
Retail employees can access the brand’s full product catalog, pricing and inventory via the app.

Additionally, employees can show consumers rating and reviews in real time.

Through integration with a retailer’s point of sale system and loyalty programs, store employees can also view customers’ past purchase history.

“As retailers continue to evaluate in-store mobile options, we recognized an opportunity to build on our mobile commerce platform to extend functionality from a smartphone to a tablet,” Mr. Paradise said.

“The mClerk application is a complementary offering to our AisleBuyer mShop application, which enables consumer-based mobile self-checkout, and we’ve seen a lot of interest from retailers we are talking to about an assisted-shopping application, so we knew even before launching that interest from retailers,” he said.

Mobile checkout
The app lets store associates complete the checkout and payment process when consumers want to buy products.

Store employees can use the tablet’s camera as a bar code scanner to checkout items.

“MClerk has help mobilize the in-store experience, giving retailers a new, better way to interact with customers,” Mr. Paradise said.
