Flowspace, the software platform powering independent ecommerce fulfillment, announced today that Karen Chao has joined the organization as vice president of product to drive software development and innovation.
Chao will oversee teams developing Flowspace’s OmniFlow software, an innovative suite of tools built to empower brands selling online and in stores with the visibility, insights, and recommendations to optimize their supply chain and fulfillment operations, enabling them to offer consistently fast, efficient delivery from every channel.
With US online sales set to top $1T this year, the stakes for modern brands have never been higher. In order to successfully scale, they must provide a reliable customer experience at every touchpoint, necessitating centralized visibility and order tracking that equips customer support teams with the real-time information needed to improve communication and retention.

Chao has served in product leadership roles for more than a decade across many successful software companies. Most recently she served as chief product officer at Nobul, where she focused on building a marketplace platform. Prior to that, Chao was head of fleet product at Booster Fuels, where she led teams that delivered insights and analytics to the largest ecommerce technology and transportation companies in the world. Earlier in her career she worked in product at Apple and supply chain management at Cisco. She holds engineering degrees from U.C. Berkeley and Stanford.
