Ombori Apps is now offering a powerful new retail tech platform, Ombori Grid, that reduces costs for retailers who have to manage many different types of in-store technology.
Ombori Grid is a unifying hub that links all of Ombori’s in-store retail technology products together and allows retailers to configure their system as they wish. Ombori’s offerings include digital signage, endless aisle, interactive wayfinders, self checkouts, kiosks and photobooths, window displays, sales tools and mobile apps. In-store devices can be controlled with touch screens, a natural language voice interface, or a smart camera, and will operate in multiple languages if desired. Retailers can deploy rich multimedia content from a central location via the Ombori Grid to multiple devices simultaneously. It offers a library of templates and components that can be attached to clients’ existing data stores and infrastructure so that unique and engaging interactive customer experiences can be designed, delivered and modified quickly and easily across different devices in multiple locations via a simple Web interface.
For example, when managing a digital sign you can edit the playlist and set content triggers, such as what to show when a product is picked up by a customer. On an endless aisle, you can instead set current offers and campaigns. By using Ombori Grid, you ensure that the offer on the signage will always match the information on the endless aisle.
Ombori Grid is based on Azure IoT, and was developed in collaboration with Microsoft and ITAB, one of Europe’s leading suppliers of shop concepts, checkouts, lighting, fixtures and fittings and shop equipment. Working closely with our leading clients, the team developed a versatile retail tech platform that reduces deployment and update time, improves consistency and reliability, improves security, reduces costs, and provides detailed management information. Retailers can easily see on the dashboard what customers are interested in, what information they are looking for, and can use that to make personalized recommendations.
Clients currently using Ombori Grid include H&M, Dufry, Lindt, and Target Australia. It is installed in malls and airports around the world, as well as the flagship stores of several leading brands.
Andreas Hassellöf, CEO of Ombori, commented, “We realized a few years ago that many of our enterprise clients were frustrated with having to deal with so many different retail tech systems. It’s confusing, expensive, and error-prone trying to make them all work together and keep everything in sync. So as well as solving the problems of delivering a great customer experience, we had to focus on the needs of management and IT teams, and provide them with an easy, secure, reliable, and cost-effective central platform. With the help of our partners at Microsoft and ITAB, that’s what we can now offer.”
