FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PHASE II OF RENAISSANCE AT COLONY PARK TO OPEN IN FALL OF 2019
Show fountain and luxury boutique movie theater to be the focal point and anchor of this new phase of the retail development in the Jackson, Mississippi metro area.
Ridgeland, Miss., (April 1, 2019) – Developers of Renaissance at Colony Park lifestyle shopping center announced that the second phase of the development is expected to be complete in the fall of this year. Situated at the northwest corner of I-55 and Old Agency Road, Renaissance is located at 1000 Highland Colony Parkway in Ridgeland, Mississippi.
Anchoring the new phase will be a 6-screen boutique theatre which will encompass approximately 25,000 square feet and will sport six all-luxury recliner auditoriums with reserved seating, state-of-the-art Dolby 7.1 digital surround sound & Dolby® Atmos™ audio system in select auditoriums. Patrons will also have access to a grill option that will include gourmet quick-casual selections, as well as a full bar with beer, wine and cocktails.
“The end product will be something the community will be very proud to have and enjoy for many years to come”, said Jimmy Tashie, Executive VP of Theatre Operations. “Our emphasis has always been on quality and we have always stressed the importance of staying ''ahead of the curve'' in sight and sound technology. Our family has been in this business for over 100 years, and we've always embraced any new idea that enhances the movie-going experience.”
“Renaissance is fortunate to have the Malco brand as a part of its merchandising mix and is excited to bring this state of the art cinema to Ridgeland and the Jackson Metro Area. It will truly enrich the entertainment component of the Renaissance experience”, said Andrew Mattiace, co-owner and developer of the center.
The cinema will be located at the entrance to the new synchronized water and music feature.
The show fountain, to be designed and constructed by Outside the Lines (OTL), will serve as an entertainment hotspot and gathering space. “This will be the first retail show fountain of this magnitude in the state of Mississippi,” says J. Wickham Zimmerman, Chief Executive Officer of OTL. “The property co-owner and developer, The Mattiace Company, recognizes the value in enhancing the destination status of Renaissance. The property’s thoughtful design and careful tenant mix will be bolstered by our choreographed and engaging fountain, which will deliver a unique visual and concert-quality experience to attract both new and return guests.”
The show fountain, which will be the focal point in Phase II, will honor the state of Mississippi with a creative design twist. “It is inspired by the interwoven S’s that appear in the State of Mississippi’s logo, which themselves are inspired by water,” says Zimmerman. “Equipped with cutting-edge audio, lighting, and effects, the fountain
features 62 nozzles that will shoot water up to 35 feet into the air as well as robotic, multi-axis nozzles, illuminated by over 200 color-changing LED lights. There is also an iconic central fountain jet able to reach a height of 100 feet, which will be visible from adjacent Interstate 55. “The visibility and prominence of this fountain will attract guests from miles away, resulting in a landmark that drives continual interest among shoppers and guests,” says Zimmerman. “Several of the speakers and theatrical lights will be mounted on buildings to enhance the fountain’s interactivity and ability to create engagement,” explains Zimmerman. “By connecting the show with the surrounding retailers and buildings, we are delivering an immersive experience that today’s consumers crave.” OTL will design and choreograph the fountain’s shows to a wide variety of music, offering the opportunity to easily customize shows by season or event.
