London, 27th February 2019 - Click & Collect software provider HubBox has launched its ‘buy online, pick up in-store’ (BOPIS) software for retailers in North America.
Whilst retailers using the Shopify ecommerce platform will be able to install HubBox’s in-store Click & Collect app directly onto their checkout, the software is also compatible across all ecommerce platforms. In the UK, HubBox powers local and in-store Click & Collect for hundreds of retailers, including brands such as TM Lewin, Skinnydip and Boohoo.
Though Click & Collect from store has long been a popular delivery option with UK shoppers, it has seen significant growth in the US market in recent months, with Adobe recording a 47% year-on-year increase in BOPIS during 2018’s peak period.
Nonetheless, high costs and fulfilment challenges have meant that it has remained tricky for all but the largest retailers to implement the solution and uptake rates have remained low; today, roughly 10% of all online orders are fulfilled through Click & Collect.
Founded in 2015, HubBox was designed specifically to reduce those barriers to implementation and make Click & Collect widely accessible to all retailers.
By making it super simple to integrate, HubBox’s technology has the ability to make BOPIS a mainstream delivery option in the US. With HubBox, retailers are able to keep their current fulfillment method, don’t have to add or switch courier partners, and see a quick installation time, meaning that offering BOPIS is now much more accessible to smaller and independent retailers. There are plenty of reasons for US retailers to want to adopt the solution: Click & Collect services are a powerful conversion tool, with 50% of shoppers saying they have decided where to make online purchases based on BOPIS or local Click & Collect being available.
It’s also clear that there is demand for a Click & Collect solution from a wide range of retailers, not just beauty and fashion brands. Some of the most recent US businesses choosing to install HubBox include Creswick Farms in Michigan, the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco and Green Acres Garden Centre in California.
“It’s exciting to be able to offer retailers across the world the benefits of a Click & Collect solution,” said Sam Jarvis, HubBox Founder and CEO. “Platforms such as Shopify have been instrumental in lowering barriers to entry in ecommerce; our aim is to match that ease of access when it comes to BOPIS. Seeing a wide range of retailer types, from museums to farms choose HubBox is a real testament to the versatility of Click & Collect”. Ends
