The appointment of Teisch as CMO “will be an accelerant to our long-term growth strategies,” according to Alber.
“Abby brings a powerful combination of brand vision, digital fluency, and operational excellence to our team,” Alber said in a statement. “Her contributions to our company have been instrumental in establishing our leadership in digital marketing and customer loyalty.”
Teisch will lead marketing strategies across Williams-Sonoma’s portfolio of brands, which includes its namesake, Pottery Barn and West Elm, among others.
The company in recent months has been focused on expanding its merchandising assortment through new category launches and collaborations with other brands.
West Elm last month partnered with Pink Chicken, a children’s clothing brand known for its colorful prints. In January, Pottery Barn Kids and Pottery Barn Teen partnered with Stoney Clover Lane on a collection of co-branded home products, including bedding, backpacks, luggage, lighting, occasional seating, bath accessories and decorative accessories. And West Elm last month introduced West Elm Office, which features desks, chairs, bookcases, shelving and storage.
In its most recent quarter, Williams-Sonoma reported third quarter net revenues increased 4.6% year over year to $1.9 billion, while comparable brand revenue increased 4%. Net income increased nearly 2% to $241.6 million.
