StubHub rolls out commerce-enabled iPhone app for ticket purchases
Consumers can browser the company’s inventory of secondary market event tickets. In addition, users can buy tickets using their existing StubHub account, via PayPal or by saving their credit card information within the application.
“The strategy is to provide a mobile platform for consumers to be able to browse and purchase from the world’s largest online ticket marketplace,” said Glenn Lehrman, head of communications at StubHub, Los Angeles.
“We believe this application will be a great tool for those looking to make last minute purchases, for business travelers and vacationers and for anyone on the go,” he said. “There is no specific target demographic as we feel we have inventory to offer all age ranges and tastes.”
StubHub, an eBay company, is a ticket marketplace that lets users buy or sell their tickets.

Consumers can also browse by genre, venue and by what is upcoming in their city.
On the right hand side of every event are the number of tickets currently available. Once users select their event, they can select the number of tickets they’re looking for and the price histogram at the bottom let’s them choose a price range that suits their budget.
“Once you’re ready to purchase, you can either enter your existing StubHub account information or create a new one,” Mr. Lehrman said.
“Following purchase you’ll receive instructions on ticket delivery, including a GPS locator with the nearest FedEx Kinkos to print electronic tickets.
Additionally, the application provides social interactivity functions, letting users interact directly with friends and family on ticket purchasing decisions by sending event and ticket details to Facebook, Twitter and email.
Users can integrate the application with iTunes, so they can check when the artists in their iTunes library are coming to town.
Consumers can also search by the favorites feature:
The application also features location settings that let users switch from their current location to any location desired
“We are launching an integrated marketing campaign beginning today and with the help of our parent company eBay we have developed a product demo that consumers can access on eBay and YouTube,” Mr. Lehrman.
