IPayment and Roam partner for mobile commerce service
RoamPay turns mobile phones into secure point-of-sale devices and is a convenient way for merchants to accept payments and access business data anytime, anywhere. Unlike other smartphone payment applications, Roam’s technology works on different phones on all major carriers, and allows features and applications to be added to end-user devices.
“This news is saying mobile commerce is now being taken seriously not just by a few ISOs but by the largest ones of them all,” said Will Wang Graylin, CEO of Roam, Boston. “This solution effectively turns the mobile phones of merchants into their own mobile POS terminal to accept payment and do business.”
IPayment is one of the largest providers of credit and debit card-based payment processing services in the United States. It is headquartered in Nashville, TN, and maintains an operating center in Los Angeles.
Enterprises can add additional applications to their end users such as order entry, inventory management, customer relationship management (CRM) and payments.
Roam is a full-service mobile commerce provider. It has a fully PCI-certified payment gateway to securely deliver commerce applications with authentication of each device and each session.
Additionally, Roam handles device provisioning, application and rights management and customer support to end-users.
“IPayment is one of the largest merchant services providers in the country and they are launching the Roam solution to target micro and mobile merchants,” Mr. Graylin. “What makes it different is that it works on hundreds of different kinds of mobile phones, and it can is designed to scale and can be customized for larger fleets of merchants who want other functionalities.”
