Fab rolls out mobile apps for design-savvy customers
Before the company debuted its mobile site and applications, it saw 18 percent of traffic originating from mobile devices. The Fab.com app is available for free download in Apple’s App Store.
“Our new mobile apps serve to enhance our mission of delivering daily design inspirations to our users,” said Jason Goldberg, CEO of Fab.com.
“Items on our site tend to sell out very fast,” he said. “In fact, we’ve heard from customers who weren’t able to get to their computer in time to purchase an item before it sold out.
“In addition to improving the browsing and purchasing experience for our mobile users, we expect the new mobile apps to increase conversion from mobile sales.”
Fab.com delivers daily design inspirations and sales of up to 70 percent off retail.
Via the app, consumers can browse daily design inspirations and sales, check upcoming sales and view and zoom in on images.
Additionally, users can share their favorite designs and looks with friends and family via Facebook, Twitter, email and SMS.
“Since we officially launched our daily sales in June, 18 percent of traffic to Fab.com has been from mobile devices,” Mr. Goldberg said.
“Fab users are clearly demanding an optimized mobile experience and we are committed to delivering it to them with the launch of our mobile apps,” he said.
The company is letting its loyal customers know about the new mobile offerings via an email campaign that was sent to the company’s 750,000-plus subscriber.
The email also contains download links for all three platforms.
“Fab is committed to delivering a unique shopping and product discovery experience to our members, and we are on a mission to make outstanding design accessible to the masses. Launching our mobile apps for iPhone, iPad, and Android enables us to continue enhancing the Fab.com experience for all users, wherever they are,” Mr. Goldberg said.
