Dive Brief:
- Moment.me, a social media marketing content provider, has launched its new Moment.me software, which allows retailers to use social media conversions occurring in their stores as a tool for lead generation.
- In beta testing, the software, dubbed Leads, provided businesses with 30% click-through rates on offers and a 25% gain in social media followers.
- The system lets retailers easily identify and offer rewards to those posting content from, or about, stores, says Moment.me.
Dive Insight:
If the system continues to prove viable, it is something retailers may want to consider. After all, instead of being bombarded with digital ads that are delivered in a scattershot way, Leads says it takes a "precise, personal and hyper-targeted" approach. This would surely translate into more conversions, as shoppers take to the personal touch. Tweets, photos and videos could all be turned into click-throughs.
The downside would be if Leads itself ends up becoming a pain, bombarding people with come-ons. In other words, like anything developed for the web, Leads has to be proven, and the way to do that is generating sales.
