Dive Insight:
Known for bright prints as well as a mature, upscale clientele, women’s apparel brand Lilly Pulitzer is emerging as one the most innovative promoters in the mobile and social space. In a move that seems to be engineered to attract younger shoppers, the retailer is offering Lilly Pulitzer-print “geofilters” that customers can apply to Snapchat photos when visiting any of its corporate retail stores in the United States.
The brand launched the Snapchat plug-in on “National Wear Your Lilly Day." This year, the brand also asked fans to snap pictures of themselves wearing a Lilly garment and share them on the social media with the hashtag #LillyinSummer.
Lilly Pulitzer has collaborated with Snapchat in the past for a “party” that asked shoppers to contribute pictures of their favorite looks of the season.
