Amazon’s Prime Now one-hour delivery service has busted through its one-zip code zone and is now available throughout Manhattan.

Prime members get free two-hour deliveries between 6:00 a.m. and midnight and $7.99 one-hour deliveries, ordered and paid for through the Prime Now app.

The company says it’s expanding Prime Now further, but has given no details.

This level of on-demand delivery is a heated space, with the likes of Deliv, Postmates, WunWun, Instacart, and others piloting and expanding, so far in very urban areas. It’s hard to know where this is all going; most shoppers don’t seem that wowed by this level of speed so far.
But maybe those aren’t the customers these outfits are after. Apparently there’s money to be made in the “instant gratification economy.”
