Dive Insight:
Pinterest is moving forward with its plan to introduce more advertising on its site. The online bulletin board has granted eight partners official access to its API, allowing them to develop, plan, and measure advertising campaigns that integrate with the Pinterest site.
“We are pleased to be partnering with Pinterest on the launch of their MDP Ads API and are excited about the progress we have already made together,” Nikhil Sethi, co-founder and CEO of Adaptly, said in a statement. Adaptly has been testing the API for several months.
The aspirational platform has been slow to monetize compared to most others its size, but is still seen as having great potential to produce e-commerce and advertising revenues.
