EBay has named Harry “Hal” Lawton to head eBay North America. Lawton most recently was SVP of merchandising at Home Depot, where he’s been in various positions since 2005, including strategizing e-commerce operations.

The marketplace company, which is shifting its team ahead of its split from PayPal, also said that Agilent Technologies executive Marie Oh Huber will be eBay general counsel, and New York Stock Exchange executive Scott Cutler will become president of eBay’s ticket marketplace StubHub.

Christopher Payne had been head of the eBay North America marketplace for four years and has left to become CEO of dating site Tinder.

EBay is assembling its leadership team in preparation for its split from payments company PayPal, bringing in heavy hitters from other places. The marketplace could probably use new energy and change as it contemplates the future and figures out how to go it alone. It’s not clear that the split, which is good for PayPal, is so good for eBay.
