Tropicana Casino enables on-the-go gambling for 24/7 access
Tropicana Atlantic City Casino & Resort is making it easier for consumers to gamble with a new iOS application.
Tropicana.AC is available for free download on iPhones and iPads and will be rolled out to Android devices in the coming months. The app lets consumers play a number of different slots, blackjack and video poker games.
“We timed the release of the app to coincide with our major push into the New Jersey market,” said Steve Callender, general manager at the Tropicana Atlantic City. “We’re reaching out to existing and prospective customers via mass media, digital and social channels as well as a heavy on-property presence and special promotions for our #ReasonToPlay campaign.
“We want people to know that TropicanaCasino.com can be a great little break in their day whenever and wherever they are in the state,” he said. “In the coming weeks we’ll be reaching out to invite our players to contribute to the campaign — letting us know about their reasons to play.
“Mobile is a key part of staying connected to our audience. We want to be where they are.”
Tropicana owns and operates eight casinos and resorts in Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, New Jersey and Aruba. The Atlantic City Casino & Resort is located on the beach and the boardwalk in Atlantic City.
For consumers that cannot visit the physical locations, however, they can now access the casino games via mobile and desktop. In addition to the iPhone and iPad app, consumers can also play at https://www.tropicanacasino.com.
Some of the slots that are available on the app are Cleopatra slots, Wolf Run, Kitty Glitter and Cats. The poker games on the app include Game King Jacks, Better Poker and Game King Bonus Poker.
The site also offers a Community Jackpot, where any bet on any game could win a $10,000 grand prize, and a share of the $20,000 Community Jackpot is distributed to all players who were active in the hour prior to the Jackpot being triggered.
Consumers can also play for Trop Points, which can be converted to cash and redeemed online.
The goal of the app and Web site is to be able to offer consumers the fun of the casinos anywhere and at anytime.
To ensure responsible gambling, Tropicana also offers the ability to control spend limits, session times and cool-off periods while playing online. Consumers can also suspend or close their accounts.
Consumers must be 21 or older and living in New Jersey to play on the app or site.
A number of other casinos have been venturing into mobile recently.
For instance, Bodog Canada’s Casino launched a mobile version of its online-only casino this past September (see story).
Additionally, Wind Creek Hospitality recently created a new app that integrates loyalty into three casinos in Alabama (see story).
“Mobile is important to Tropicana Atlantic City for the same reasons it’s important everywhere,” Mr. Callender said. “The world is moving to more and more mobile devices.
“People want to be able to play on the go,” he said. “Sometimes they want the full Tropicana experience on property. Sometimes they want a quick break, and they want it wherever they are. Now we can be there with them.”
