Barclays Capital offers clients research, analysis via iPad app
The Barclays Capital Research application lets clients browse, search, filter, save and create alerts for their favorite publications. The app is available for free download in Apple’s App Store.
“The iPad has become an important mobile business tool for many of our clients, who require access to our research through multiple platforms,” said Seth Martin, spokesman for Barclays Capital, New York.
Barclays Capital is the investment banking division of Barclays Bank PLC.
The application features a dashboard that aggregates information in real time and displays featured articles alongside alerts.
Additionally, clients can access the latest headlines so they are up-to-date on the latest news.
The app also includes a search feature that locates relevant content by auto-suggesting tickers, analysts or publications and multi-layered filtering.

Clients can save their searches
“We are reaching out to clients directly and through our leading research portal, Barclays Capital Live,” Mr. Martin said.
“We are continually evaluating how to best deliver research to our clients,” he said. “That’s what led to us launching this app, driven by the needs of our clients.”
Real time alerts
Via the application, Barclays Capital clients can also drill down within a single asset class, across multiple asset classes or within a search to view specific research.
The app also includes a briefcase feature that stores documents on the iPad and lets clients read them when offline.
In addition, there is an alerts tab that lets clients view messages on the home screen, which updates them on new content that meets their saved criteria.
“We cannot comment on specific initiatives, but we are working on mobile offerings for platforms other than the iPad,” Mr. Martin said.
